Called to be a Light in the Rockfish Valley
Serving GOD with JOY and GENEROSITY

“The Rockfish meeting house was established here by 1746, making it one of
the oldest Presbyterian churches in the region. James McCann conveyed
land for a church and school. Samuel Black became the first pastor of the
church in 1747. Thomas Mason built a new frame structure in 1771. The
present church was built in 1853. Further modification have been made to
the building and grounds since that time, including an addition in 1995 and a
recent addition in 2016.”
The church has been blessed with faithful pastors and members who have
kept the flame of Christ’s love alive through many lean times. The tenacious
spirit of those first Scots-Irish settlers still lives, but Rockfish has become a
place where people of all backgrounds are welcomed and affirmed.

Kathleen Connolly is our music director, overseeing the wonderful singers of
Rockfish including a children's choir and our adult choir. Kathleen is an
accomplished violinist along with her piano, organ, and conducting skills. She
recently auditioned and was awarded a chair as a violinist in the Charlottesville
Symphony Orchestra. Kathleen is married to Brahma Mark Rosenberg.
Jamie Heard is our church administrator - the pleasant voice answering the
phone and the one who keeps the pastor on his toes! Jamie worked with the
Department of the Energy before moving to the area with her husband Bill.
Gardening and knitting are among her hobbies.
Irene Thompson is our nursery attendant. A life time of experience caring
for children gives Irene the nicest touch when helping your child feel secure
and cared for. Irene is a native of Nelson County and has a knowledge of
local life only one born here can share.
Louie V. Andrews, III is RPC's Pastor. After years near the beach or in the
desert, he is thrilled to finally make it to the mountains. Rockfish is his fifth
church in over 30 years of ordination. He plans to make it his last and then
retire in this glorious setting. Hopefully that is a long time from now.
Accompanying him to Camelot is his wife, Deb. She loves to garden, sing, sew
and visit grandchildren. Deb is delightfully retired. They have two children,
Martina and David and three grandchildren Andy, Austin and Siddalee. They
belong to Martina but we all claim them.
Deb and Louie bring their gifts of the past and joyfully will apply them to your
present and future. He loves the Bible, new adventures, has very eclectic taste
in music and literature, and when time affords, enjoys hunting for his golf ball in
the woods. When it warms up you are very likely to pass him on his bike.
SHARE THE ROAD!
They are thrilled to be part of such a diverse, talented and compassionate
community. Drop by and see them at 29 Lakeside Close. They will sit on the
deck with you and observe God’s wonderful handiwork.
